WOVEN
Family and sexual violence stands as one of the most widespread human rights abuses globally. The consequences for survivors are severe, often requiring them to seek safe housing, access medical treatment, obtain protection orders, and rebuild their lives after fleeing from abusive environments.
Established in 2014, Femili PNG emerged as the first organisation in Papua New Guinea dedicated to assisting survivors in navigating the intricate care and justice systems. I had the opportunity to engage with survivors, partners, and Femili PNG representatives to share the organisation's significant impact on individual lives while striving for a broader societal transformation to combat violence in Papua New Guinea.
